ABOUT THERAPY

At Namaste, we aim to treat the whole person. We provide effective evidence-based psychotherapy practices to help you reach your goals.

Our tailored approach is unique to each client and includes techniques from ACT, Adlerian, CBT, DBT, Existentialism, Gottman, Person-Centered and MI approaches. These therapeutic techniques, combined with cultural and trauma-informed care, help to increase awareness, motivation and renewed confidence to help encourage you to adopt new thoughts, attitudes and beliefs that better serve you. Therapy can guide you in changing habits, behaviors or responses that are negatively impacting you. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is a healing process and a journey that includes an individual, collaborative treatment plan. Participating in therapy does not mean there has to be a pathological cause or that you are unable to make necessary changes or adjustments on your own. Therapy involves making a commitment to yourself and your overall wellbeing. It includes making consistent, small changes that can help you accept, move through and cope with a multitude of feelings and experiences including a lack of motivation, feeling stuck, sadness, fear, or pain. The psychotherapy process is one that can foster growth, offer guidance and support to bring about the changes you are seeking. At some point in life, if we desire new results we all need a sounding board, an accountability partner, resources, or strategies to work towards gaining a new perspective or trying a different approach. Sometimes in order to change we need to make an active commitment and block off our calendar to process and reflect upon our lives and our goals. Therapy can help you do that. Research shows if we don't take a proactive role and schedule time for self-care and growth life can move fast and our goals can be pushed aside by other life responsibilities and demands. At Namaste, we are here to support you as you move closer to your goals. Keep in mind what Nelson Mandela said, "It always seems impossible until it is done".
